The Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling is a four-hour course designed to provide essential knowledge on manual handling safety in the workplace. Participants will learn to recognise the potential injuries and ill health that can result from incorrect manual handling and understand both employer and employee responsibilities. The course covers the consequences of non-compliance with health and safety regulations, along with the definitions of hazard and risk in the context of manual handling. Participants will gain the skills to conduct manual handling risk assessments, understand the risk control hierarchy, and apply safe movement principles. The course also covers the use of appropriate equipment and the requirements for testing, servicing, and examining lifting equipment, ensuring that all employees can perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively.
